It was nice participated to celebrate the african americans History in their struggle for their freedom and their equality. At America which is the only one coolest place for exploring American culuture in Indonesia gave me the opportunity to feel how American Celebrete the contributions made by African Americans to struggle their freedom and their equality. It was wonderful experience for me.
Have you ever thought how African Americans History related with Jazz music? How jazz can bring equality for them. Well, I will answer the question with Movie I’ve seen before it’s The Monterey Jazz Festival.
The legend begin in October 3, 1958 when Jimmy Lyon a San Francisco jazz radio broadcaster introducted the festival at that time. The first moneterey jazz festival had audience when first of open in moneterey. The audience was very welcoming when it held and really success even there are Airplane education at the same time.
The festival has been increasing constantly in 1967 the festival bacame the International jazz festival invited Eropean Musician and also mix Blues and Jazz artist. More than 500 top jazz artists perform on nine stages spread throughout the grounds, with more than 50 concert performances. In addition, the Monterey Jazz Festival features jazz conversations, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, clinics, and an international array of food, shopping and festivities spread throughout the 20-acre. Now we can say that The monterey Jazz festival is a rapid progress for African Americans.
The Monterey festival still kickin after 40 years. Musician, fans, crew and staff considered they all related each other as like a family. They always will come every years to enjoy the music and feel the relax of music.
After 40 years held The Monterey Jazz Fesitaval the musician teaching student about Jazz called with Jazz Today and Tomorrow. They commitment with give education to young peole kid to come out and play. Not only dedicated young all people but also inspire all people in whole world to keep the faith dream which is inside meaning of jazz. every jazz musician do not out their careness with the differences, it could be where they come from, what culture their use in their life, what their skin colour, or are they black or white Americans? they just play the jazz, enjoy and feel the spirit of jazz it self!
This movie made me know what jazz really is? In the past Im just known just as and put it to my favorite music. But now after I saw the movie jazz is just not music anymore, jazz is a dream and passion. I related my whole life with jazz, every second I heard that music I felt have a big spirit to always dream. Teach me to do not afraid with dream because dream is a good thing just Faith and take it to reality. I believe I would meet failure, loser and troubles but jazz teach me to passion more harder to reach my all dream. In the past, present and future I will decicated my whole life to always faith the inside deeper meaning from jazz it self. And Im so thank you so much for At America to gave me this uniqe experience.
